Unlike traditional commercial coffee machines, the Smart X series features a powder catcher cup that releases the coffee grounds in a single motion into the brewing chamber. This design prevents coffee grounds from piling up directly in the brewing chamber during grinding, avoiding the formation of a "high hill" shape on top.
When coffee grounds are evenly and smoothly distributed in the brewing chamber, it creates an optimal foundation for tamping and extraction. Uneven distribution, on the other hand, can lead to the channelling effect.

The tamping component in the Smart X series is equipped with a digitally controlled motorized upper piston, allowing precise adjustment of tamping pressure within a 20-60kg range. This ensures the coffee puck is compact and level, creating uniform density and resistance, which lays a solid foundation for a consistent extraction flow rate.
